A vertical reinterpretation of the Peshawari muhalla — shared streets, terraces and communal spaces stacked into a contemporary community.
This project reimagines the traditional Peshawari muhalla as a vertical community. Rather than stacking apartments in isolation, the architecture is conceived as a sequence of shared streets, terraces, and communal spaces that foster interaction, belonging, and collective life. Positioned on Ring Road, Peshawar, the design draws upon the social values of the traditional neighbourhood — where homes are connected not only by circulation, but by everyday encounters, shared experiences, and a strong sense of community. The result is a contemporary, climate-responsive architecture that transforms vertical living into a meaningful extension of Peshawar's cultural identity.
